There were some really beautiful developments that happened today in the relief efforts here at the Branch.  Many of you have been expressing in your e-mail messages to us that you appreciate the regular updates, so here is the latest from Day 11.

Haiti Quake - Day 9

A convoy of five vehicles left Santo Domingo early this morning to bring in more relief supplies, including mattresses, rice, salted fish and other food products.  Two of the vehicles carried a group of 12 nurses that flew in from Guadeloupe to assist with the medical relief team.  They also brought with them tents, as they learned that rooming arrangements were extremely limited.  It will actually be their first time to sleep in a tent tonight, as camping is not common here in the Caribbean, yet they are willing to do it to offer their assistance and not place a burden on the s

Special Assembly Day in Hinche

On the weekend of October 10 & 11, 2009, we had the privilege to travel to the city of Hinche in the upper central plateau region of Haiti to attend the Special Assembly Day for Haiti Circuit 11B.

2009 Service Year Reports

Two exciting reports were announced at the Haiti Branch and the Dominican Republic Branch this week.

Haiti reported a new peak in publishers in the month of August 2009 with a total of 16,019 publishers reporting activity in the field.  This was a 12% increase over the month of August 2008, giving a 5% increase over last year's average.
